Mid Canterbury Kitchen and Scullery | Traditional Australasian Kitchen
Sean Flannery
Designer
This kitchen blends traditional Australasian style with modern conveniences, creating a space that is both timeless and functional.
The clients, working closely with their architects, wanted to achieve a traditional Australasian style for both their home and joinery. Shaker-style doors and drawers with individual frames were selected for the kitchen and scullery, incorporating traditional colour features. With a high internal stud height of 3.6 meters, the joinery was layered in two sections to reach the ceiling. To maintain the traditional aesthetic while incorporating modern conveniences, Access Black Finial Hinges were routed into the frame as dummy hinges, providing soft-close functionality.
